I built the growth engine behind Weights & Biases — the product, the community, and the go-to-market motion that made W&B indispensable to every major AI team on earth. That meant working with the people actually building modern AI: foundation model labs, research groups, and enterprises putting models into production. It left me with a deep network across every major AI lab and research community, and a fairly specific sense of what an exceptional team looks like from the inside, because I was part of one.
Today I run Improbability, backing early-stage AI founders building improbable things. We invest in the one or two AI companies that matter each year, and our LPs — the operators, founders and institutions who built modern AI — are the unfair advantage we hand our portfolio.
Most AI coverage is a firehose: everything arrives at the same size, nothing arrives attached to anything. I wanted the opposite — a place that puts this moment in context.
